There are also many who substitute cut-rate prices for the professionalism and reliability many homeowners want and deserve. Whether or not you choose Phoenix, we recommend the following guidelines in choosing a painter:
- For your protection, get estimates in writing, and read them carefully. They should say not only how much you will pay; they should also adequately describe what you are paying for.
- Does the estimate state accurately, and in sufficient detail, what work is to be done, any special requirements, etc.?
- Is the estimate carefully prepared. A vague, unprofessional estimate usually means a shoddy job.
- Above all, ask for written referrals from previous customers, recent and covering several years past. Nobody knows a painter's work better than their customers.
- Then, compare prices.
